Hello! It is with great joy and anticipation that I join the staff at Heritage Christian Academy as a French and Music teacher. I count it a privilege to teach Music at a Christian school with its many opportunities we have to worship God in our everyday work.
Having graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2000, I have been teaching many different subjects, but some of my favourites remain French and Music! I play guitar, ukulele, flute, recorder, and some percussion, but I specialize most in singing and in playing the piano. I started lessons for piano when I was 3 years of age, and I've worked until I completed my performers diploma (A.R.C.T.) with the Royal Conservatory of Music. I was bitten by the French bug in grade 4, when I was taken to visit Paris and was asked to book a hotel room in French via letter writing (email didn't exist yet!). Ever since then, I've been excited about taking my students along the journey of communicating in French as well.
I have learned to trust in God and his provision ever since I was five, and I have only grown to trust Him more through years of experience in seeing Him work through difficulty and impossible situations over and over again!
At home, I have two sons, Chris and David, and am married to Jon Lim, pastor at RockPointe Church. We enjoy board games, read-alouds, nature walks, cooking, and watching movies together.
I am blessed to be here at HCA, and I am hopeful that while we work on the academics, students grow also in love, in faith, and in relationship with our mighty, merciful, and steadfast God.
